Auch.

Hm, spet premišljujem, so vsi ti štarti vedno malo boleči. Hvala vsem, do naslednje dirke.

Well, I am thinking about it again, all the starts are always a little painful. It is certainly not good that I made a mistake and fell. It went well, I was doing fine and then BAM and I was on the floor. Sure it’s hard, but I am accepting it as a necessary learning and also as a part of my job. Actually, it is not that bad. I dislocated my shoulder, the same as a year and a half ago in Italy, but it was definitely less painful than the first time! The most affected was my butt, I do not even know if is mine, looks more like the orangutan`s? It was tough to watch the stage and to wonder where wonder where would I be, I was actually expecting the most of this stage. Instead of leaving quickly to the hotel, there was a doping control waiting for me at the finish line, where I was already as a spectator.  But I received so many messages and good wishes like I would win the race. Thank you for that, till the next race.

Santos Tour Down Under 2016 saturday

Well I survived my first start among the elite  😊 People`s choice classic crite in the streets of Adelaide, which serves as an introduction to the competition season. I’d be lying if I said that I wasnt nerveous before the start but it seems to me that is the right thing! Soon I was able to experience that all the guys there extremely fast – peloton velocity is …. impressive! This start for me was only as an additional training speed, too wake up the body so that I can already expect the start of the race more calmly.  Today we had easy ride with the Bianchi Australia, as well as lunch with them. The weather is hot like in  summer, there will also be hot tomorrow, when it’s happening for real, challenge is the Tour Down Under. Learn more about the race and the stages here

Down Under

My journey already began on Thursday in Barcelona, from where we flew to the Netherlands to the official team presentation of Team LottoNL Jumbo. Then some medical examinations followed, we also did some tests, and full body scanning – on the test, some parts of my body were hurting more than the legs. An interesting experience, then we made few kilometers with mountain bike and then hop on to the endless flight to Singapore and from there to Adelaide in Australia. Really completely different world down here, sandy beaches, different nature, a »pleasant« pressure of heat, bicycles still have the same spin, although the pulse is high, the watts are gone and legs are in pain! : D In the morning, my roommate and I sleep over breakfast, not a good start, no wonder koalas sleep 19 hours per day here… Luckily, there is still some time until the start of the race and I hope I will acclimate, while I am writing this- knock knock on the doors of our hotel room- doping control for me at 21:50 in the evening! 😀
Anyway, I can not wait for the start of the first race in the competition of the best riders of the world; nervousness is of course present, I am more excited of the expectations of how it will go, and where Iactually am – can I ride as fast as they do? Or are they from another planet?! Soon to find out, looking forward.

Bring it on 2016!

Spet me čakajo učne ure, tokrat v rumenem dresu nizozemske ekipe LottoNL Jumbo. Bomo videli, kaj in kako bo, vsem pa želim srečno 2016!
Oh,  it’s 2016 already. The year that passed was good, but difficult at the times. Towards the end I did not sit much on the bike, but more in school benches – new team has sent me to learn their language to the institute in the Netherlands (I would rather do 7 hours on the bikeJ), then we had  teambuilding, which was  under the auspices of the Royal DutchArmy – doing everything possible; throwing over the obstacles, jumping from the towers, do push-ups at 5 in the morning … In the year that has just begun, new colors and new challenges are waiting for me. Well, I will not even wait that long because in a few days we are  traveling to Australia, where in the middle of January begins Santos Tour Down Under. Until then, we will make some hard trainings in Catalonia, where it is comfortable to ride with shorts and in short jerseys, although I think that nothing can prepare you for he 38 degrees that are predicted for Australia.  Again, I am waiting for some lessons, this time in the yellow jersey of the Dutch team LottoNL Jumbo. We’ll see what and how it will go, I wish you all a happy 2016!
