The third educational lecture in the “Winning Mindset: Everything a Young Athlete Should Know!” series, organized by the Primož Roglič Foundation, took place at Gimnazija Šiška. This time, the main focus was on nutrition, which plays a crucial role in the development and long-term performance of young athletes.
The lecture was led by Leon Bedrač, a sports nutrition expert, who explained to students in a practical and accessible way how important healthy eating habits are, especially during adolescence and periods of intensive training.
Throughout the lecture, students learned:
how to properly distribute meals throughout the day,
what to eat before and after training,
how to recognize signs of insufficient energy intake,
how to make responsible decisions regarding dietary supplements.
The speaker emphasized that nutrition is an equal part of training, as it not only affects performance but also recovery, overall health, and well-being.
“Young athletes often believe that training alone is enough. But without proper nutrition, the body will eventually say no. Good habits can quickly lay the foundation for great achievements.”
Students asked numerous questions, showing strong awareness of the impact that nutrition has on achieving their sporting goals.
The Primož Roglič Foundation will continue the “Winning Mindset” program in the coming months with new topics that help young athletes build a winning path, both on and off the field.
