Second Lecture in the Series “Winning Mindset: Everything a Young Athlete Should Know!”

Primož Roglič Foundation – Second Lecture in the Series “Winning Mindset: Everything a Young Athlete Should Know!”

At Gimnazija Šiška, the second educational lecture in the series “Winning Mindset: Everything a Young Athlete Should Know!”, organized by the Primož Roglič Foundation, took place. This time, the lecture focused on the topic of law in sports and on questions that young athletes often face in the early stages of their careers.
The guest speakers were attorney Sabina Markič Janežič and Rožle Prezelj, the Athletes’ Rights Ombudsman. Together, they explained to students the importance of understanding their rights and responsibilities, shared real-life examples from legal practice, and highlighted potential pitfalls athletes may encounter when signing contracts, working with clubs, or joining national teams.
The lecture offered students valuable insight into the key legal aspects of a sporting career, from registration procedures, data protection, and contracts to the importance of fair play and personal accountability. Students also had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss real situations they face in their sporting lives.

“It is very important for young athletes to understand that they have rights in sports – and that they know how to exercise them. Legal knowledge helps them build a safe and stable sports career.”

Through such educational initiatives, the Primož Roglič Foundation supports young athletes beyond the sports arena, helping them understand topics essential to their overall growth and long-term success.
The “Winning Mindset” series will continue in the coming months with new inspiring topics and guest speakers.
