On Sunday, October 11, more than 400 cyclists joined Primož for the fifth edition of the Golden Lap. Through registration donations, additional contributions and a charity auction, we raised a total of €48,000 to support the work of the Primož Roglič Foundation and young athletes. After two years, the Golden Lap returned to Maribor, where it all began. Cyclists, fans and supporters of the foundation gathered at Trg Leona Štuklja before setting off with Primož on a 61-kilometre charity ride. The route connected Maribor with the municipalities of Hoče-Slivnica, Miklavž na Dravskem polju, Kidričevo, Starše, Hajdina, Ptuj and Duplek. The most ambitious cyclists joined Primož for an additional fast-paced loop featuring the climb to Ciglence, while the entire peloton was united by a common goal: helping young people through cycling. Upon returning to Maribor, the event continued with a charity auction featuring items from Primož’s 2026 season. The auction raised €19,970, with the European champion’s jersey attracting the highest bid, selling for €6,500. All funds raised will go directly towards supporting the work of the Primož Roglič Foundation. These contributions will allow us to continue supporting young athletes and developing projects that introduce children and young people to cycling and an active lifestyle. We would like to thank OTP banka, Tissot and Groupama Zavarovalnica for their support of this year’s event. Our thanks also go to all the municipalities along the route, our partners, volunteers and teams who helped make the event possible. Thank you to all the cyclists, donors and fans for taking part, contributing and cheering us on along the route. With your support, the story of the fifth Golden Lap continues by creating new opportunities for young people.
