Golden Lap with Primož Roglič,


on Sunday, 11 October 2026, starting and finishing in Maribor.

For the fifth consecutive year, Primož Roglič, together with OTP banka and its partners, is organising the Golden Lap with Primož Roglič charity cycling event. This year, the event returns to the Štajerska region.


As cycling is a team sport, all proceeds from registration donations will go to charity – the funds raised will once again be donated to the Primož Roglič Foundation. After the cycling part of the event, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy selected music, food and drinks, while the highlight of the afternoon will be a charity auction featuring items from Primož Roglič.

 

ROUTE

You will have the opportunity to cycle a 61 km route with the Olympic champion and winner of five Grand Tours, spending several kilometres alongside one of the greatest cyclists of his generation. The charity ride will take you from Maribor through the municipalities of Hoče-Slivnica, Miklavž na Dravskem polju, Kidričevo, Starše, Hajdina, Ptuj and Duplek, before returning to Maribor.

 

Along the route, you will be able to refuel at refreshment stops in Ptuj and before Duplek, while the fittest and bravest cyclists will have the opportunity to join Primož for a fast loop featuring a three-kilometre climb to Ciglence (an additional 9 km in total) before rejoining us at the refreshment stop. After the stop, we will continue the ride together towards the finish.

SCHEDULE

The Golden Lap with Primož Roglič will begin at 8:30 am with race number collection in front of the OTP banka branch at Trg Leona Štuklja, while the cycling ride will start at 11am. Once all cyclists have reached the finish, expected at around 2.15am, the event will continue with a relaxed gathering featuring selected music, food and drinks.


The day will conclude with a charity auction.

PROCEEDS FROM LAST YEAR’S GOLDEN LAP

With the proceeds from last year’s Golden Lap, we were able to carry out several successful projects.


Surrounded by the glow of neon sculptures, we held our third Children’s Cycling Gathering, where more than 150 children enjoyed themselves among unique animal figures made of colourful lights. For the fourth consecutive year, we have also supported the Kids Tour of Slovenia, a multi-day cycling race for children and the only event of its kind in Europe, as well as international BMX competitions in Maribor.


We have also launched a series of lectures for young athletes, and we are especially proud of the first ambassador of the Primož Roglič Foundation. We helped him purchase a racing bike, with which he has already achieved his first major success and climbed to the top step of the podium.


We look forward to the new opportunities, achievements and challenges that lie ahead.
