Primož lined up at the start of the first Monument of the season, Milano – Sanremo, covering 298 kilometers from Pavia to Sanremo. As in recent editions, the race was decided on the climbs of Cipressa and Poggio, followed by an explosive finale with a sprint on Via Roma. Primož spent the entire day in the peloton and finished the race in 37th place. His appearance at the longest classic on the calendar served as an important test following a strong performance at Milano – Torino, and as a continuation of building form ahead of the Itzulia Basque Country, which awaits him at the beginning of April. With this performance, Primož completed an important preparation effort, and the season now continues with the next challenges. As he wrote himself: “Now heading home, with a few days of rest. See you in the Basque Country!”
