THE GOLDEN ORDER

At a special ceremony on October 10 in the Presidential Palace, Primož Roglič was awarded the Golden Order of Merit by President Borut Pahor. He received it for exceptional sporting achievements, establishing Slovenia on the world sports scene and inspiring people. “He presents a story of dreams coming true, which are the result of hard work and focus. For him, sport is a great journey for life and one of the most beautiful games the world knows. He never stops being humble. He shares his feelings with us, admits his disappointments, but still keeps the faith , that it will be better. It gives us a sense of humanity and at the same time of supernatural greatness. With its modesty and openness, it charms and enchants.” With his performances, Primož writes cycling history – as the first Slovene to wear a yellow jersey in  France and a pink one in a race in Italy, he is the first Slovene to step on the podium of a three-week race and also the first to win a three-week race; he is the first Slovenian to win one of the five cycling monuments and is the first Slovenian cyclist to win an Olympic gold medal. We are extremely proud of him and sincerely congratulate him on receiving the recognition. Primož, keep inspiring us!
